RESOLUTION 70-118 REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE <br />TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING <br />PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> <br /> WHEP~EAS, the City of Santa Ana desires to improve certain <br />streets within the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Articles 2 and 3 of Chapter 9, Division 2, of the <br />Streets and Highways Code of the State of California authorize a <br />county to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California <br />Highway Users' Tax Fund for aid to any city for the improvement, <br />construction, or repair of streets within such city; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange <br />intends to provide in the County Budget of the Special Road <br />Improvement Fund for the fiscal year 1971-72 a sum of money for the <br />improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County <br />in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing <br />Program; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of <br />the City of Santa Ana does hereby request the Board of Supervisors <br />of the County of Orange to allocate to the City of Santa Ana from <br />County funds the amount of $631,000, said amount to be matched by <br />funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement <br />of certain streets, as follows: <br /> <br />STREET PROJECT COST <br /> <br />REQUESTED AHFP FUNDS <br /> <br />FIRST STREET <br /> 200' West of Center <br /> Street to Bush Street <br /> Right of Way <br /> Construction <br /> <br />$ 320,000 $160,000 <br />426,000 194,000 <br /> <br />SEVENTEENTH STREET <br /> Santa Ana River to <br /> Santiago Street <br /> Right of Way <br /> Construction <br /> <br />$ 438,000 $219,000 <br />116,000 58,000 <br /> <br />$1,300,000 <br /> <br />$631,000 <br /> <br />Said improvements are to be in accordance with the attached project <br />statements. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESO~IED: That the Board of Supervisors of <br />the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said work and <br />acquisition of rights of way, in the manner provided, is in the <br />general interest of the County. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That by this Resolution the City of <br />Santa Ana agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highway <br />Financing Program, and further agrees that its share of the cost <br />of improvements will be available for the fiscal year 1971-72. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana at its regular meeting held on the 21st day of December, 1970. <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br /> <br />
