PJ~SOLUTION 71-33 STATING AND DECLARING THE RESULT OF <br />THE GENERAL ~UNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, ON APRIL 6, 1971 <br /> <br /> W~EREAS, the City Council of the City of santa Ana, by <br />Ordinance NS-1069, duly called for and provided for the holding <br />of a General Municipal Election on April 6, 1971; said election <br />was called to fill vacancies in public offices; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, notice of said election, notice ofnominees for <br />public office, and notice of the election officers~and polling <br />places were regularly given in time, form and manner as provided <br />by law; the sample ballots, and the statements submitted by the <br />candidates for,public office, were regularly mailed to all <br />electors within the City; and said election on said date was <br />duly held at the polling places designated and theivotes cast <br />thereat were canvassed and the returns thereof made in the time, <br />manner, and form provided by law; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on the 13th day of April, 1971, the City Council <br />of the City of Santa Ana duly assembled at its usual place of <br />meeting, the returns of said Election having been canvassed by <br />the Clerk of the Council. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> That the General Municipal Election was duly held on <br />April 6th, 1971, and the votes cast thereat were duly and regularly <br />canvassed and the returns thereof made in the time; form, and <br />manner required; that all things were regularly done as required <br />by law; that the absent voter ballots were duly canvassed and counted <br />as required by law and the result of such count isihereinafter <br />set forth on Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof; <br />that the Clerk of the Council has duly canvassed the returns of <br />said election and from the said returns it appears, and this City <br />Council finds, that the total number of votes given in the City <br />to each person, the whole number of votes cast in the City, are <br />as set forth on Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That at said General Municipal <br />Election VERNON S. EVANS, residing in Ward 2; LORI~ GRISET, <br />residing in Ward 4; J. OGDEN MARKEL, residing in Ward 6, were <br />elected to the office of Member of the City Council for a term <br />of four years; and that HARRY K. YAMAMOTO, residing in Ward 7, <br />was elected to the office of Member of the City Council for a <br />term of two years. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of <br />Santa Ana at its adjourned regular meeting held on the 13th day of <br />April, 1971, for the purpose of declaring the result of the <br />canvass of the election returns. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE coUNCIL <br /> <br />~AYOR <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
