<br />Street is needed. On motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by Jerome
<br />and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was approve~
<br />and variance granted subject to the conditions as imposed by the
<br />Commission and the Department of Public Works.

<br /> At the reques~ of Adam Schleining, Jr. of the Santa Ana Commercial
<br /> Company and on motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Larsen and
<br /> carried, an extension of four years to the existing contract was
<br />
<br /> approved, subject to negotiation between Mr. Schleining, the Manager,
<br /> Acting
<br /> Attorney and the/Director of Public Works, with reference to shutting
<br />
<br /> down of the present City Dump.

<br /> On recommendation of the Acting Director of Public Works and on motion
<br /> of Councilman Larsen, seconded by Jerome and carried, the request of
<br /> Newberry Electric Corporation that 32' wid:h driveway approaches
<br /> be permitted, instead of the 25~ width as originally planned, at 15~5
<br />
<br /> Santiago Street, was granted.
<br /> .
<br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and Carried, Map of
<br /> Tract No. 2162, submitted by Daniel Holbrook and bond in the sum of
<br /> $6,000.00, Were approved for the dedication of Daisy Avenue and Eighth
<br /> Street, and agreement covering improvements was ordered signed.

<br /> The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Ordinance, on
<br /> motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Dahl and carried, the fol-
<br /> lowing Ordinance entitled:

<br /> "Ordinance amending Article IX of the Santa Ana
<br /> Municipal Code creating changes in district
<br /> boundaries and amending Sheet No. 25 of the
<br /> Districting Map to show the reclassification"
<br />
<br /> of ~he southerly 125~ of the northerly 150' of Lots 4, 5 and 6 of
<br /> Mabury Tract, situated on the south side of West 17th Street between
<br /> College Avenue and English Street, from the R-2 District to the C-~
<br /> Distric~, reference the amendment application of John L. Sentesy etal,
<br /> was considered, designated Ordinance No. NB-72 and passed by the fol-~'
<br />

<br /> and curb markings in accordance therewith"
<br />
<br />abandoning a yellow zone on the north side of West Third Street betwee~
<br />Main and Sycamore Streets, and establishing a yellow zone on the north
<br />side of'West Third Street between Main and Sycamore Streets, was con-
<br />sidered and passed by the following vote:
