RESOLUTION 71-61 DECLARING THE NEED <br />FOR A HOUSING AUTHORITY IN THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA AND APPROVING <br />THE APPLICATION OF THE PROVISIONS OF <br />SECTION 23 OF THE UNITED STATES HOUSING <br />ACT OF 1937, AS AMENDED, TO THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Santa Ana, as <br />follows: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana, California, <br />pursuant to the Housing Authorities Law of the State of California, and <br />particularly Article 2 thereof, hereby determines, finds and declares <br />that: <br /> <br /> (a) There is a shortage of safe and sanitary <br />dwelling accommodations in the City of Santa Aha, California, <br />available to persons of low income at rentals they can afford. <br /> <br /> (b) There is a need for a Housing Authority to <br />function in the City of Santa Ana, California. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2. The City Council therefore declares that the appli- <br />cation 0~ the pro.visions of Section 23 of the Housing Act of 1937, as <br />amended, to the City of Santa Ana is hereby approved. <br /> <br />SECTION 3.
