RESOLUTION 71-62 OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA RECOGNIZING THE <br />ORANGE COUNTY CRIMINAL JUSTICE <br />COUNCIL AS THE REGIONAL CRIMINAL <br />JUSTICE PLANNING BOARD <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the President's Crime Commission of 1967, <br />recognized the urgent need for comprehensive criminal justice <br />planning in the United States, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act <br />of 1968, provided a national strategy to address the documented <br />problems in the administration of justice, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Governor, pursuant to provisions of the Deukmejian- <br />Moretti Act established the California Council on Criminal Justice as <br />the State Criminal Justice l~lanning Agency <br />to further the comprehensiveness of criminal justice planning in this <br />State, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets <br />legislation has provided that forty percent (40%) of planning money <br />must be distributed through local governments or combinations of <br />units of local government, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the California Council on Criminal Justice has <br />established Orange County as a separate region, effective 1 July, 1971, <br />and <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED, the City of Santa Aha recognizes the Orange <br />County Criminal Justice Council as the Orange County regional <br />planning and coordinating body for criminal justice. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED BY the City Council of the City of <br />Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 21st day of <br /> June , 1971. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA) <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE ) <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ) <br /> <br />SS <br /> <br /> I, FLORENCE I.
