RESOLUTION 71-67 ORDERING THE VACATION OF A PORTION OF <br />ALTON AVENUE BETWEEN SUSAN STREET AND THE PACIFIC <br />ELECTRIC RAILWAY CROSSING AIqD ~ESERVING AN EASEMENT <br />THEREIN FOR PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on recommendation of the Department of Public Works <br />and the Planning Commission of the City of Santa Ana, Resolution <br />71-51 was adopted giving notice of intention to vacate that certain <br />street right of way herein described; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on July 6, 1971, a public hearing was duly held on <br />said street vacation on posted notice and the publication of <br />Resolution 71-51; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of <br />the City of Santa Ana does hereby find that Alton Avenue, as it <br />exists between Susan Street and the Pacific Electric Railway <br />Crossing is unnecessary for present or prospective street purposes <br />and does hereby make its order abandoning and vacating for street <br />purposes that certain right of way in the City of Santa Ana, County <br />of Orange, State of California, described as follows: <br /> <br />Those portions.of Alton Avenue, formerly Talbert Avenue, as <br />described in instruments recorded in Book 4074, Page 556 and <br />Book 4105, Page 241 of Official Records, County of Orange, <br />State of California, lying within Lot 3 of the Williams Tract <br />in the City of Santa Ana as per map recorded in Book 30, <br />Page 14 of Deeds, Records of Los Angeles County, California <br />and within Section 27 of that portion of land allotted to James <br />McFadden in said City of Santa Ana, as described in the Final <br />Decree of Partition of the Rancho Santiago de Santa Ana, <br />which was entered September 12, 1868 in Book "B", Page 410 of <br />Judgments of the District Court of the 17th Judicial District <br />in and for Los.Angeles County, California, and those portions <br />of Alton Avenue as shown on a map of Tract 1013 in said City <br />of Santa Ana as per map recorded in Book 33, Page 36 of <br />Miscellaneous Maps in the office of the County Recorder of said <br />Orange County, bounded westerly by the Easterly line of the land <br />described in the deed to Pacific Electric Railway Company <br />recorded July 28, 1958 in Book 4364, Page 69 of said Official <br />Records and bounded Easterly by a line parallel or concentric <br />with and 30.00 feet Westerly and Northwesterly measured at right <br />angles, from the following described line: <br /> <br />Beginning at the intersection of the North line of said Alton <br />Avenue, 50.00 feet wide, as shown on said map of Tract 1013 <br />with the center line prolongation of Susan Street as granted to <br />said City of Santa Ana by deed recorded March 13, 1961 in <br />Book 5654, Page 468 of said Official Records; thence along the <br />Southerly prolongation of the center line of said Susan Street, <br />a distance of 20.00 feet to the intereection of the surveyed <br />center line of Alton Avenue as shown on said map of Tract 1013 <br />with the easterly line of a strip of land 30.00 feet in width, <br />as granted to said City of Santa Ana by deed recorded July 9, <br />1964 in Book 7126, Page 393 of said Official Records, said <br />intersection being the beginning of a tangent curve concave <br />Northwesterly having a radius of 348.36; thence Southwesterly <br />along the arc of said curve through a central angle of <br />30° 21' 41" an arc distance of 184.60 feet; <br /> <br />Reserving from the above described land an easement for public <br />utilities. <br /> <br /> <br />
