RESOLUTION 71-68 DECLARING THE ANNEXATION <br />OF TERRITORY DESIGNATED "JOANA AND GRAND SOUTHEAST <br />ANNEXATION" TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of Orange <br />County has approved a description of territory herein below <br />contained and annexation of said territory to the City of Santa <br />Ana, California; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with the requirements of Government <br />Code Section 54797.1, the Local Agency Formation Commission of <br />Orange County has approved the within annexation and has authorized <br />the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, California, to annex <br />said territory without notice and hearing by the City Council of <br />the City of Santa Ana; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of <br />the City of Santa Ana, California, hereby finds and declares that <br />said territory was uninhabited at the time of the adoption of this <br />Resolution, and is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana; that all <br />of the statements hereinabove are true and correct; and that said <br />territory shall not be taxed to pay any indebtedness of the City <br />existing at the time of this annexation; <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That all of the territory in the <br />County of Orange, State of California, described as: <br /> <br />Beginning at a point on the East line of the Santa Clara <br />and Grand Northeast Annexation Number 2 to the City of <br />Santa Ana, California by Resolution 70-110 of the City <br />Council of the City of Santa Ana, California distant 428.90 <br />feet Southerly from the Northeast corner of said annexation, <br />being on the East line of Grand Avenue, 80.00 feet wide, <br />as shown on a map of the Santa Ana Grand Avenue Tract which <br />is recorded in Book 26 at Pages 53 and 54 of Miscellaneous <br />Records of Los Angeles County, California, said point being <br />South 0°01' 39" West 170.63 feet and North 89o55' 24" East <br />40.00 feet from the intersection of center lines of Grand <br />Avenue with Joana Drive as said intersection is shown on <br />Tract No. 7356, recorded in Book 276, Page 36 of Miscel- <br />laneous Maps, records of Orange County, California; thence <br />South along the East line of said Annexation, a distance <br />of 197.88 feet to an angle point therein; thence South <br />8°16' 34" West along the East line of said Annexation and <br />along the East line of Grand Avenue, 80 feet wide, a dis- <br />tance of 43.74 feet; thence departing from said City boundary <br />North 89056' 55" East along a line parallel to the South <br />line of that certain 7.17 acre parcel described in deed to <br />Johan Jacob Mueller, recorded January 16, 1901 in Book 52, <br />Page 87 of Deeds, a distance of 584 feet, more or less, to <br />the East line of said parcel of land and to a point in the <br />center line of that certain 50.00 feet in width unnamed <br />street lying Easterly of Lots 51 to 55 inclusive of said <br />Santa Ana Grand Avenue Tract; thence North 0o03' 07" West <br />along said center line, a distance of 242.20 feet to an angle <br />point in the Grovemont and Grand Southwest annexation to the <br />City of Santa Ana, California by Resolution 70-116 of the <br />City Council of the City of Santa Ana; thence South 89056' <br />55" West along said City boundary, a distance of 578 feet, <br />more or less, to the point of beginning. <br /> <br />be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Santa Ana and to <br />Ward Number 1 in said City, and said Annexation is by this Resolution <br />effected and declared. For the purpose of tax segregation of this <br />territory, the designation that applies is the "Santa Ana City <br />1957-1958 Annexes." <br /> <br /> <br />
