RESOLUTION 71-117 REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF <br />ORANGE TO INCLUDE WIT~{IN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY <br />FINANCING PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF CERTAIN <br />STREETS WITHIN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana desires to improve certain <br />streets within the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Articles 2 and 3 of Chapter 9, Division 2, of the <br />Streets and Highways Code of the State of California authorize a <br />county to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California <br />Highway Users' Tax Fund for aid to any city for the improvement, <br />construction, or repair of streets within such city; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange <br />intends to provide in the County budget of the Special Road <br />Improvement Fund for the fiscal year 1972-73 a sum of money for <br />the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the <br />County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway <br />Financing Program; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of <br />the City of Santa Ana does hereby request the Board of Supervisors <br />of the County of Orange to allocate to the City of Santa Ana from <br />County funds the amount of $493,000, said a/uount to be matched by <br />funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improve- <br />ment of certain streets, as follows: <br /> <br />STREET PROJECT <br /> <br />COST <br /> <br />REQUESTED AHFP FUNDS <br /> <br />SEVENTEENTH STREET <br /> Santa Ana River to <br /> Santiago Street <br /> <br />$200,000 $100,000 <br /> <br />CIVIC CENTER DRIVE <br /> Birch Street to <br /> Minter Street <br /> <br />372,000 186,000 <br /> <br />FLOWER STREET <br /> Pine Street to <br /> Santa Ana Boulevard <br /> <br />200,000 100,000 <br /> <br />EAST INTERCONNECTION <br /> <br />180,000 90,000 <br /> <br />SEGERSTROM AVENUE <br /> Santa Ana River to <br /> Harbor Boulevard <br /> <br />34,000 17,000 <br /> <br />$986,000 $493,000 <br /> <br />Said improvements are to be in accordance with the attached project <br />statements. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Board of Supervisors of the <br />County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said work and <br />acquisition of rights of way, in the manner provided, is in the <br />general interest of the County. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That by this Resolution the City of <br />Santa Ana agreed with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highway <br />Financing Program, and further agrees that its share of the cost <br />of improvements will be available for the fiscal year 1972-73. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana at its regular meeting held on the 20th day of December, 1971. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br />~ ~l~ <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br /> <br />
