This being the date set for hearing to vacate, abandon and close a portion of Valencia Street; no written or oral protests were received. The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by Dahl and carried, the fol- lowing Resolution entitled: "Resolution No. 55-95 ordering the vacation, abandonment, and closing of a portion of Valencia Street" was considered and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen William Jerome, J.L.McBride, Thomas F.Laro-en, Milford W. Dahl, Courtney R. Chandler Noes, Councilmen None Absent, Councilmen None This bein~g the date set for hearing on the amendment application of Edgar M. and Daniel E. Cohn; no protests were received age. inet the reclassification of .property at the northwest corner of Falrview Avenue and ~istol Stree't, from the R-1 to the "C" District. On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Lateen and carried, the follow- lng Ordinance entitled: "Ordinance amending Article IX of the Santa Ana Municipal Code creating changes in district boundaries and amending Sheet No. 34 of the di'stricting map to show the reclassification" was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading. This being ~he date set for hearing on the amendment application of Allison Honer Company; no protests were received against the reclass- ification of property on the south side of West 5th Street between King Street, if extended, and the west City Limits, from the R-1 District Zo the M-2 District. On motion of Councilman Lateen, seconded by Jerome and carried, the following Ordinance entitled: "Ordinance amending Article IX of the Santa Ana Municipal Code Creating changes in district boundaries and amending Sheet No. 50 of the districting map to show the reclassification" was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading. The tabulation of bids was submitted for the widening and resurfacing of East First Street from Santa Fe Railroad to Mabury Street, as follows:' Total Sully-Miller Contracting $6~i'~.50 Certified check in the sum of $7500.00. It was moved by Councilman Lateen, seconded by Jerome and carried, that the bid of Sully-Miller Contracting, in the total sum of $68,511.50 be accepted, subject to the approval of the State Highway Department.
