SPECIAL~!RESOLUTION OF THE CITT!~COUNCIL <br />OF.THE CITY~OF S~NTA ~-NA ADOPTING THE <br />NEW EMBLEM SIGNIFYING THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~by~d~reationtof the~ity Comn=iL~through~the <br />~fi~esnof:!th~i~y Manager!~of~the~Cityc~f!~S~nt~Ana,ait <br />was de~ermined, that~aCnew amd more significant en~lem <br />symbolizing the City of Santa Aha and its more than a <br />century ~f~.progr~ss?~as necessary;~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS,laf~er'c0nSiderable effort by the coordinated <br />efforts -'of~the various departments of the City of Santa Ana <br />they%have created the following insignia: <br /> <br />A thin outer circle in gold. Adjacent to <br />said circle is a larger inner circle in blue <br />containing in gold letters the ~ds <br />c~Y~of S~n~a"Ana, California, with the <br />words City of Santa Ana in the upper half, <br />thenc~wo (~}~5~pointed stars separating <br />said wo~ds~from the word California, which <br />is in~lower~half. Adjacent to said inner <br />circle is a further inner circle containing <br />a gold sunburst in the North Eastern portion <br />with~.sunrays radiating from.~it~ ~n~the~.top <br />western pa~cO~ said~circ~e is <br />oldOrange~Co~nty~Courtho~se~and~Undernea%h <br />it the~wo~ds~ - Orange County Seat of <br />Government. !n~-~h~eii~.o~therly port~on of <br />said circle is depicted the new City Hall <br />complex and underneath it the words The <br />Golden City founded 1869. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council <br />of the City.of Santa Aha;' individually, collectively and <br />in a representative capacity for the citizens of the City of <br />~ant~a~do hereby~adopt the above described Emblem as the <br />official seal of the City of Santa Aha. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of <br />Santa ~na atits regular meeting held on the 17~h day of <br /> ~ril , 1972. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA) <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE ) <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ) <br /> <br /> I, FLORENCE I.
