Chandler. <br />None <br /> <br />Each member of the City Council kaving received copies of the Minutes <br />of May 2nd, 1955, reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved <br />on motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Jerome and carried. <br /> <br />In Re This being the date aeK for hearing on Council <br /> <br />Hearing <br />Reclassify property' <br />South of Edinger St. <br />beginning approximately <br />26~2~ west o~ Bristol <br />council initiated) <br />Ordinance <br /> <br />In Re <br />Variance <br />Byron H. <br /> <br />Kaufman, Jr. <br /> <br />initiated amendment <br /> <br />application; no protests were received against the reclassification <br /> <br />of property located on the south side of Edinger Street, 2652' west of <br /> <br />Bristol Street, proposed for a Junior High School Building, from the <br />R-1 to the R-2 District. On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by <br />Jerome and carried, the following Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br /> "Ordinance amending Article IX of the Santa Ana <br /> Municipal Code Creating changes in district <br /> b~undAries and amending Sheet No. $6 of the <br /> districting map to show the reclassification" <br /> <br />was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading. <br /> <br />Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending denial <br /> <br />of variance application of Byron H. Kaufman to permit the establishmen <br /> <br />and operation of a beauty shop in existing residence on property at <br />1255 West. Camile Street, with the entrance off South Bristol Street an <br />to the rear of the building, with off-street parking fo~ approximately <br /> <br />six or eigh~ cars. On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by <br /> <br /> Dah! and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was <br />approved an'd variance denied. <br /> <br />Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending denia'~ <br />of variance application of Norman B. Ketcheson to permit ~he use of <br />property on the west 'side of North Bristol Street near Santa Clara <br /> <br />Avenue, for the erection of a major oil station, with sign and flood <br />lights. Kenneth Williams stated his reasons why the variance should <br /> <br />be denied. Jack Eyth presented a map and explained the unusual aspects <br />of this property and that it is two separate tracts. On motion of <br />Councilman Dahl, seconded by H~inly and carried, the recommendation of <br />the Planning Commission was approved and variance denied. <br /> <br /> <br />
