RESOLUTION 73-7 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, <br />AUTHORIZING CERTAIN OF ITS MEMBERS <br />TO FILE WRITTEN ARGUMENTS REGARDING <br />CITY MEASURES <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the General Municipal Election is to be held in <br />the City of Santa Ana on April 3, 1973, at which there will be <br />submitted to the qualified electors of said City the following <br />City measure: <br /> <br />PROPOSITION A <br /> <br />Shall Article IV, Division I, Section 401 of : : <br />the Charter of the City of Santa Ana be amended : : <br />reducing from two (2) years, to one (1) year, : : <br />the time a person must be a resident and regis- : YES : <br />tered elector of the City immediately preceding : : <br />the date of his election or appointment to be : : <br />eligible to hold the office of councilman; and : : <br />reducing from one (1) year to six (6) months, : : <br />the time a person must be a resident of the : NO : <br />ward from which he is elected at the time he is : : <br />elected to be eligible for nomination from the : : <br />ward within which such person resides. : : <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana, California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE DETERMINE AND ORDER AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1: That this City Council, being the legislative <br />body of said City, hereby authorizes Councilm~an Jerry <br />Patterson , member of said body, to file <br />written arguments for Proposition A in accordance with Article 4, <br />Chapter 3, Division 4 of the Elections Code of the State of <br />California and to change said arguments until and including the <br />date fixed by the Clerk of the Council after which no arguments <br />for or against said measure may be submitted to said Clerk. <br /> <br /> Section 2: That this City Council, being the legislative <br />body of said City, hereby authorizes Councilman ~ n~ <br />Markel , of said body to f~le written <br />argument against Proposition A in accordance with Article 4, <br />Chapter 3, Division 4 of the Elections Code of the State of <br />California and to change said arguments until and including the <br />date fixed by the Clerk of the Council after which no arguments <br />for or against said measure may be submitted to said Clerk. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of <br />Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 5~th day of February, <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> MAYOR <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br /> <br />
