John C. Saenz, 1709 <br /> South Flower Street, spokesman, for approximately 15 persons, objected <br /> to the variance for the re,sons that it would increase traffic on Scut <br /> Flower Street and that the area contains single-family residences. <br /> Several persons stated that the zoning sho%tld remain as single-unit <br /> dwellings and if the variance is granted, it would decrease their <br /> property values. David Claussen, spokesman for Frank Silveri, said <br /> that the units would be an asset to the area. On motion of Councilma <br /> Markel, seconded by Heinly and carried, the recommendation of the Plan <br /> <br /> ning Commission was approved and the variance denied. <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br /> <br /> recommendation of the Planning Co~miesion was approved and the Varlanc <br /> was granted <br /> 9f Santa Aha Woods, Inc.,/to permit the establishment of a temporary <br /> <br /> real estate office in dwelling located on Lot 7, and to erect ten 2~x3 <br /> temporary feature signs on Lots 7, 8 and 9, located at the southeast <br /> corner of Occidental and Rousselle Streets, facing Occidental Street; <br /> and to erect one 8' x 20' temporary single-face sign in the rear yard <br /> of Lot 6,~located at the northwest corner of Occidental and Oak Stree· <br /> subject to cer~tain conditions. <br /> # <br /> <br /> Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending denia <br /> of variance application of Earl M. Wilson for permit to construct a <br /> one-bedroom unit duplex ~ith garage, on front of lot, on the northwest <br /> corner cf Grant and Maple Streets,and a new 10~ x 20' detached garage <br /> for the use of existing single-family residence on the rear of the lot. <br /> Carl C. Peabody, 327 Grant Stree~ objected for the reason that most <br /> lots in the vicinity wereoccupied by one or two dwellings and none <br /> occupied by three or more dwellings. On motion of Councilman Markel, <br /> seconded by Meinly and carried, the recommendation of the Planning <br /> Commission Was approved'and the variance denied. <br /> # <br />Communications were read from the Planning Commission recommending <br />granting of variance of Card Construction Company to permit the use of <br />a 7.77 acre parcel of land located on the west side of Sullivan Street, <br />330' fronta~e,.beginning at a point approximately 952.36~ south of <br />First Street, for the e~tablishmen~ of a 113 lot trailer park, complet~ <br />with swimming pool, recreation area, laundry facilities,, etc., subject <br />to conditions, and from the Department of Public Works that certain <br />improvements are needed. On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by <br />Markel and carried, the recommendations of the Planning Commission and <br />Department of Public Works were approved and the variance granted sub- <br />Ject to all conditions outlined. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Heinly and.carried, the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and the variance <br />of Buffums~ was granted to construct a one-story addition to their stor <br /> <br /> <br />
