RESOLUTION NO. 73-16 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA AMENDING DESCRIPTION OF PARCEL <br />NO. 5 INCLUDED IN RESOLUTION 72-40 FORMERLY <br />PASSED APRIL 17, 1972. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to provide for a more orderly flow <br />of traffic on First Street in the City of Santa Ana, it has <br />become necessary to widen and improve said street from <br />Townsend to Hesperian Street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; That the City Council <br />of the City of Santa Ana does hereby amend its Resolution <br />72-40 passed April 17, 1972 as to Parcel No. 5 only and does <br />hereby find and declare that the public interest and neces- <br />sity require that First Street be widened and improved from <br />Townsend to Hesperian Street to provide for a more orderly <br />flow of east-west traffic, and further require that said <br />City do have, take and acquire for street purposes that cer- <br />tain real property in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, <br />State of California, described as follows: <br /> <br />PARCEL 5: <br /> <br />That certain strip of land of variable width being <br />a portion of the land allotted to Julian Chavez, in <br />the City of Santa Ana, as described in the Final <br />Decree of Partition of the Rancho Santiago de Santa <br />Ana, which was entered September 12, 1868 in Book <br />"B", Page 410 of Judgments of the District Court of <br />the 17th Judicial District in and for Los Angeles <br />County, California said certain strip being bounded <br />Southerly by the South line of the following des- <br />cribed parcel: <br /> <br />Beginning at a point distant 1675.28 feet Easterly, <br />measured at right angles, from the center line of <br />Sullivan Street and distant 50.00 feet Northerly, <br />measured at right angles, from the center line of <br />First Street; thence from said point of beginning <br />Northerly, parallel with said center line of Sulli- <br />van Street, a distance of 290.43 feet; thence North <br />0° 25' 30" West a distance of 172.00 feet; thence <br />Northerly parallel with said center line of Sullivan <br />Street, a distance of 89.89 feet to a point in the <br />Westerly extension of the center line of Third <br />Street in the City of Santa Ana; thence Easterly <br />along said extension of Third Street a distance of <br />296.25 feet to the Westerly line of Townsend Street, <br />in the City of Santa Ana, being the West line of Par- <br />cel 1 as described in the deed to the City of Santa <br />Ana recorded July 5, 1957 in Book 3964, Page 119 of <br />Official Records, Orange County, California; thence <br />Southerly along said Westerly line of Townsend <br />Street a distance of 552.32 feet to a point on a line <br />parallel with and distant 50.00 feet Northerly, <br />measured at right angles, from said center line of <br />First Street; thence Westerly along said parallel <br />line a distance of 295.25 feet to the point of begin- <br />ing, and also being bounded Westerly and Easterly by <br />the Westerly and Easterly lines of said parcel above <br />described, and bounded Northerly by the following <br />described line: <br /> <br /> <br />
