RESOLUTION NO. 73-19 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ESTABLISHING GUIDES TO <br />SCREENING OF MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT OR <br />APPURTENANCE~ PURSUANT TO SECTION 41-622 <br />OF THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Santa Ana Planning Commission held a public <br />hearing at a regularly scheduled meeting on November 27, 1972 <br />on a proposed amendment to the zoning ordinance of the City of <br />Santa Ana pertaining to the screening of mechanical equipment <br />or appurtenances on buildings which are hereafter constructed <br />or expanded; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, following said hearing the Santa Ana Planning <br />Commission did by Resolution No. 6017 recommend to the City <br />Council the adoption of said proposed amendment to zoning ordi- <br />nance consisting of new Section 41-210 and Section 41-622 of <br />the Santa Ana Municipal Code on November 27, 1972; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on November 27, 1972 by Resolution No. 6108, the <br />Santa Ana Planning Commission did further recommend the adoption <br />and approval of guides to screening of mechanical equipment for <br />appurtenances; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Aha <br />does resolve that, pursuant to Section 41-622 of the Santa Ana <br />Municipal Code, the following "Guides to Screening of Mechanical <br />Equipment or Appurtenances" are approved and shall read as follows: <br /> <br />GUIDES TO SCREENING OF MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT <br /> AND APPURTENANCES <br /> <br /> Conformance with the following requirements will adequately <br />screen mechanical equipment or appurtenances on the roof or <br />exterior of a building: <br /> <br />Ail roof-mounted mechanical equipment and/or <br />appurtenances, which project vertically more <br />than one and one-half (1-1/2~ feet above the <br />roof or roof parapet, are to be screened by an <br />enclosure which is detailed consistent with the <br />building. <br /> <br />Ail roof-mounted mechanical equipment and/or <br />appurtenances, which project one and one-half <br />(1-1/2) feet or less above the roof or roof <br />parapet are to be painted consistent with the <br />color scheme of the building in all cases. <br /> <br />No mechanical equipment or appurtenances are <br />to be exposed on the wall surface of a building. <br /> <br />de <br /> <br />Exhaust fans shall be screened by a wall, a <br />fence or landscape materials and be located <br />below the fascia and/or roof line of the <br />building. Further, they shall be located <br />on the rear or "hidden" side of the building, <br />to be painted to match the surface to which <br />attached, if visible. <br /> <br /> <br />
