Chandler <br />Noes, Councilmen None <br />Absent, Councilmen William Jerome <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Hein]y, <br /> <br />seconded by Markel and carried, the offer of Mr. and Mrs. A. ?. <br /> <br />Schroeder, 1120 Memory Lane, that the City accept sufficient of their <br /> <br />property to p~rmit the widening and improving of Memory Lane, was <br /> <br />In Re <br />Petition <br />Incinerator <br /> <br />reJ eot ed. <br /># <br /> <br />The Manager reported reference the petition signed by. five property <br />owners objecting to the use of the incinerator at 1117 Oak Stree~ for <br />the burning of obnoxious refuse and stated the Fire Department made <br /> <br />investigation and was given definite assurance ~ha~ the action will <br /> <br />not be repeated. On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Heinly <br /> <br />and carried, the petition was received, filed and the Clerk directed <br /> <br />In Re, <br />Request <br />E.C.Missildlne <br />(alley) <br /> <br />to notify the first signer on the petition of the action. <br /> <br />The Manager reported reference the request of E.C.Mls~ildine that a <br />dedicated alley be opened for at least 150~ from Pomona to Edinger <br />Streets between Main and Sycamore Streets, for the operation of a <br /> <br />parking lot on the third 50 foot lot north of Pomona Street and recom- <br /> <br />mended authorization to instruct the property owners abutting this. <br />property to remove, at their own expense,.any encroachments such as <br /> <br />fences, etc., and that the alley be opened to the street, grading it <br /> <br />to required grade but the City not to proceed with any improvements <br />as to surfacing. On motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Heinly <br /> <br />In Re <br />Stop sign at <br />Broadway at 10th St. <br /> <br />and carried, the Manager was instructed to inform the property owners <br />that the alley will be opened and all encroachments shall be removed. <br />It was moved by Councilman Dahl, seconded by Heinly and. carried, that <br />the recommendation of the committee be approved and the installation <br /> <br />In Re <br />Reg~est <br />Markham Appliance <br />Co. <br /> <br />of a stop sign on Broadway at Tenth Street denied. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Dahl and carried., the <br />quest of MarPd~am Appliance Company ~hat necessary act~_ on be taken t o <br /> <br />accomplish the setback of the Main Street front of the bri6k building <br /> <br />In Re <br />Petition <br />Traffic survey <br />Santa Clara and <br />No. Ma~n Sts. <br /> <br />on the northeast corner of Main and Washington Avenue, was denied. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the committee and on motion ,of Councilman Heinly: <br />seconded by Markel and carried, the request of thirteen persons that <br /> <br />an. official survey of the congestion be made at the clover leaf <br /> <br />10~ated at Santa Clara and North Main Streets and that time limit <br /> <br />parking areas be established on both sides of No~th Main Street <br /> <br /> In Re <br />Crossing sign <br />.Nc.Flower and Jack <br />Fisher Park <br /> Santiago School P.T.A. <br /> <br />beginning at Santa Clara and continuing south approximately 400 feet, <br />was denied. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the committ, ee and on motion of Councilman Dahl, <br />seconded by Meinly and carried, the petition signed by members of the <br />Santiago School P.T.A. requesting ~[ sChool-girl crossing sign at the <br /> <br /> <br />
