SECTION 1. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. <br /> <br /> ARTICLE IV <br /> <br />CONTENTS OF FNVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORTS <br /> <br />General. Environmental impact reports shall contain <br />the information outlined in this article. <br /> <br />Description of Project. The description of the pro- <br />ject shall contain the following information but should <br /> <br />not supply extensive detail beyond that needed for eval- <br />uation and review of the environmental impact. <br /> <br /> (a) The precise location and boundaries of the proposed <br /> <br /> project shall be shown on a detailed map, prefer- <br /> ably topographic. The location of the project <br /> shall also appear on a regional map. <br /> <br /> (b) A statement of the objectives sought by the proposed <br /> project. <br /> <br /> (c) A general description of the project's technidal, <br /> <br /> economic, and environmental characteristics, con- <br /> sidering the principal engineering proposals. <br /> <br />Description of Environmental Setting. An EIR must in- <br /> clude a description of the environment in the <br /> vicinity of the project as it exists before com- <br /> mencement of the project, from both a local and <br /> regional perspective. Knowledge of the regional <br /> setting is critical to the assessment of environ- <br /> mental impacts. Special emphasis should be placed <br /> on environmental resources that are rare or unique <br /> <br />-27- <br /> <br /> <br />
