RESOLUTION NO. 73-46 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA COMMENDING COUNCILMAN RAY VILLA <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in April, 1969, RAYMOND (RAY) A. VILLA was elected to <br />the City Council as the representative of Ward 5 whereupon the <br />citizens of the City of Santa Ana became the beneficiaries of <br />COUNCILMAN VILLA'S foresight, concern for his fellow man, and <br />love for the City of Santa Ana, which he has so ably served; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, COUNCILMAN VILLA has played an active and integral <br />part in community and civic affairs in the City of Santa Ana <br />for more than two decades evidenced by his participation in more <br />than eighteen committees or organizations; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, during those more than twenty years of dedication in <br />making Santa Ana a better place to live, he has also provided <br />opportunity for a vast number of citizens in the City of Santa <br />Ana to learn a skill and become self-sufficient; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, COUNCILMAN VILLA has unselfishly devoted his life to <br />serving people less fortunate than himself and giving of himself <br />to those in need, it must be said that this man is truly a <br />samaritan of the first order; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED: <br /> <br />That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, with and for <br />the citizens of the City of Santa Ana, salutes and expresses to <br />COUNCILMAN VILLA its profound gratitude for his contributions as <br />a member of the City Council from April 1969 to April 1973, <br />during which time he played an active role in the creation and <br />development of the Community Relations Department, the Redeve- <br />lopment Agency and Commission and the Housing Authority. <br /> <br />The City of Santa Ana extends to Mr. Villa sincere wishes for a <br />future as illuminating and fulfilling as his past. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City <br />of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 7th <br />day of May , 1973. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
