RESOLUTION 73-69 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR GRANT <br />FOR ORANGE COUNTY VEHICLE THEFT & STATISTICAL <br />ANALYSIS UNIT, CALIFORNIA COUNCIL ON CRIMINAL <br />JUSTICE AND AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS <br />PERTINENT THERETO. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana desires to undertake a certain <br />project designated Orange County Vehicle Theft and Statistical Ana- <br />lysis Unit (Crime Specific - Auto Theft) to be funded in part from <br />funds made available through the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe <br />Streets Act of 1968, PL 90--355, as amended PL 91-644, (hereafter <br />referred to as the Safe Streets Act) administered by the California <br />Council on Criminal Justice (hereafter referred to as CCCJ). <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA that the Chief of Police, Raymond C. Davis of <br />the Santa Ana Police Department, was authorized on its behalf, to <br />submit the attached Application for Grant for Law Enforcement Pur- <br />poses to CCCJ and is authorized to execute on behalf of the City of <br />Santa Ana the attached Grant Award Contract for law enforcement pur- <br />poses including any extensions or amendments thereof. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the applicant agrees to provide <br />all matching funds required for said project (including any exten- <br />sion or amendment thereof) under the Safe Streets Act and the rules <br />and regulations of CCCJ and the Law Enforcement Assistance Adminis- <br />tration and that cash will be appropriated as required thereby. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder <br />shall not be used to supplant on-going law enforcement expendi- <br />tures. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana at its regular adjourned meeting held on the Z5th day <br />of 3une , 1973. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br /> <br />
