RESOLUTION NO. 73-91 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA REQUESTING THAT THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />TRANSIT DISTRICT (OCTD) STUDY THE NEED FOR A <br />CENTRAL TRANSPORTATION TERMINAL AND FACILITY <br />IN SANTA ANA <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Santa Aha City Center Association by letter <br />dated March 19, 1973 addressed to the OCTD requested the District <br />to consider a central transportation terminal and facility in <br />downtown Santa Aha; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Dr. Pete Fielding, General Manager of OCTD, on May <br />21, 1973 stated to the Santa Ana City Council that Santa Ana was <br />the center of Orange County and in need of such a facility, and <br />that the best way for this to be accomplished would be for <br />Council to adopt a resolution and forward it to OCTD for their <br />serious study and consideration; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Santa Aha City Center Association, by letter <br />dated June 18, 1973 addressed to the Community Redevelopment Agency, <br />the Community Redevelopment Commission and the Planning Commission, <br />expressed their deep concern about the bus terminal situation in <br />Santa Aha and made recommendations relative thereto; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this City Council of Santa Ana believes that early <br />planning of bus terminal facilities in Santa Aha is imperative <br />for proper coordination with downtown redevelopment, transpor- <br />tation planning and Civic Center development. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the City Council of <br />Santa Ana requests the Orange County Transit District undertake <br />a study to determine the need for a central transportation termin- <br />al and facility in Santa Ana, desirable locations for same, and <br />methods of implementation. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of <br />Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 6 day of August <br />1973. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA ) <br />COUNTY O~ ORANGE ) <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ) <br /> <br />ss: <br /> <br /> I, FLORENCE I.
