<br />C~=a~uication was read frc~ the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control acW~wledgi~
<br />receipt of petition protesting the iss~.e of an on-sale license to Joseph Nichols,
<br />dba Nichols Barbeqns, 2204-06 West ~th Street and advising that the petition
<br />be considered as a valid protest against the application. On motion of Councilman
<br />Hetnly, seconded by ~er~=.~ and caa-ried, the matter was referred to the Manager and
<br />C~ief of Police and if in their opinion there is a sufficient police problem to
<br />enter a protest; that a request be for~d to the Departing-ut of Alcoholic Beverage
<br />Control, within three days, for the purpose of filing a protest and requesting a
<br />contin,~-,ce on the hearing.

<br />On motion of Councilman Je~, seconded by Markel and carried, proper officials we~
<br />authorized to e~ecute contract dated December 5th, 1955, with Parks and Davis, for
<br />architectural services, working drawings, etc., on the Corporation Yard to be
<br />located on Delhi Road.
<br />
<br />On rec.~-~udation of tbe Manager and on motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by
<br />
<br />HeAnly and carried, the request of Stan~-~d Oil Company for four B5 foot driveways
<br />at service station located at the southwest corner of Fairview Avenue and Bristol
<br />Street, was granted.
<br />
<br />It w~s ~ved by Councilman Dahl, seconded by Markel and carried, that the previous
<br />deadline of December 1st, 1955, to clear the ~ley between Edinger and Pomona Street~
<br />be extended to January 1st, 1956.
