On motion of Counct !~n Dahl, seconded by Jerome and car- <br /> <br />tied, the recom.~udation of the p]an,~,g Commission was approved and the variance <br /> <br />In Re <br />Variance <br />Bryan-Santa Ana~ Ltd. <br /> <br />denied. <br /> <br />Co~mmlnication was read from the Planning Co~aiasion recommending approval to permit <br />the use of property at the northwest corner of Grand and Washington Avenues, for t~ <br /> <br />erection of a Shell Oil Company service station directly at the corner and improve <br />the remaining area, with a new building containing six small stores, to be used for <br /> <br />any use permitted in the "P" zone, with the exception of a malt shop, cafe or <br /> <br />restaurant, subject to certain conditions. Attorney Leroy Lyon appeared befor$ t~ <br /> <br />Council stating that there must be some misunderstanding or error in the language of <br /> <br />th~ recommendation reference the listed uses or similar uses and requested that the <br /> <br />variance be granted to include similar uses.
