Coordination of Systems <br /> <br /> PLD 5 <br />{ReviSEd 8-66) <br /> <br />Describe the manner in which any services provided by this <br />system will be coordinated with similar services provided <br />by other systems. <br /> <br />At the present time, none has been contemplated in Orange County. <br />Cooperation with other systems, such as the Metropolitan, Inland, <br />Long Beach, L.A. County, and L.A. City Systems which are in a <br />~ontiguous area, will be explored and may add a fruitful dimension. <br /> <br />2. Describe any of the following system-wide services which <br /> wil~ be provided as the result of establishing the system, <br /> ~nd which are not described elsewhere in this plan: <br /> <br />The Orange County Public Library has a depository <br />collection of United States Government publications. <br />This collection will be available under that library's <br />usual rules. This collection existed prior to the system. <br /> <br />The Orange County Public Library has a depository <br />collection of California State publications. This <br />collection will be available under.that library's <br />usual rules. This collection existed prior to the <br />system. <br /> <br />Foreign.language collections will be expanded cooperative-~ <br />ly to have more titles available. These would be chiefly <br />in 'the areas of Spanish, French, German, Russian and <br />Japanese. <br /> <br />Special subject collections, <br />and art will be expanded. <br /> <br />such as business, <br /> <br />music <br /> <br />A film collection has been developed and .is now in <br />circulation to the public. <br /> <br />/, Works of art, 9riginals or reproduction, will be pur- <br /> chased cooperatively if funds are available. <br /> <br />'k..All member libraries have copying equipment for patron <br /> <br /> 1. A microfilm program has been developed with equal access <br /> by all members of the system. <br /> <br /> n. It is planned to intensify in-service training for <br /> the benefit of all member libraries. <br /> <br /> pi Cooperative newspaper publicity concerning the system <br /> and its services is done through the Orange County <br /> Public Library. <br /> <br /> S. Posters, displays,.and exhibits planned and used <br /> cooperatively by member libraries. <br /> <br /> <br />
