Each member of the City Couacil having received copies of the Minutes of March 19th, 1956, reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion of Councilman Je ~rcm~, seconded by Dab1 and carried. Schaefer 3 at a total price of $4830.00, less 2~, plus Sales Ta~es, and the bid of the Crane Cc~pany was accepted on Item 4 at a total price of $324.00, less 2~, plus Sales Taxes; ,11 other bids were rejected. Communication was read from the Planning Commission reco~nending approval of variance application of Eugene P. Schaefer to pemit the .use of property at 1321- 23 Sout~ Sycamore Street for used car sales and service, subject to certain con- ditions. Report was read from Counc~!~an Heinly reference the conference held with the applicant and the objectors setting forth six conditions which were Upon. On motion of Councilman Dehl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the report was received and filed. It was moved by Councilman D~hl, seconded by Markel and carried, that the variance be granted subject to the six conditions as contained in the report and +~k~ further condition that the applicant inst~ ] at least one driveway on the Sycamore Street entrance which sba1 ] not be longer than 50 feet from the southerly boundary line of the property and that a b~per rail be along the setback line as contained in condition No. 5.
