RESOLUTION NO. 74-82 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA EXPRESSING ITS DESIRE TO DEVELOP <br />A GEO-CODED DATA BASE IN COOPERATION WITH <br />CERTAIN CITIES AND TO ACQUIRE CERTAIN FEDERAL <br />FUNDS THEREFOR. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana desires to develop <br />a Gee-Coded Data Base; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cities of Anaheim, Garden Grove and <br />Huntington Beach have tentatively indicated a desire to <br />participate in the development of such a system; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the cooperative development of such a <br />system will promote efficiency by eliminating duplication <br />of effo~t; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development of the United States Government has, under the <br />Comprehensive Planning Assistance Program, earmarked ~75,000 <br />grant for the purpose of developing such a system; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and U~ban <br />Development will make the ~75,000 grant available to the <br />Cities of Anaheim, Santa Ana, Garden G~ove and Huntington <br />Beach on a two-thirds -- one-third basis; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cities may make in-kind contributions <br />of staff and other city ~esou~ces as thsi~ one-third contri- <br />bution, Santa Ana's share is estimated at ~10,587; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana ia authorized to <br />contract with other agencies, and to enter 3oint Power <br />Agreements with other public agencies pursuant to Section <br />6500 et seq of the Government Code of the State of California; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and U~ban <br />Development desires one of the fou~ cities above-mentioned <br />to act as the "lead" agency in the implementation of this <br />p~og~am and submit the formal application for the g~ant <br />hereinabove described; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the cooperative development of Management <br />Information System, known as a Gee-Coded Data Base is mutually <br />beneficial to the Cities of Anaheim, Santa Ana, Garden Grove <br />and Huntington Beach, and in the best interest of the City of <br />Santa Ans. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council <br />of the City of Santa Ana does hereby express its desire and <br />willingness to participate in the development of the Gee-Coded <br />Data Base with the Cities of Anaheim, Garden Grove and <br />Huntington Beach, and with the City of Anaheim acting as <br />project manager. <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
