RESOLUTION NO. 74-150 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING AGREEMENTS WITH <br />OTHER ORANGE COUNTY CITIES FOR PARTICIPATION <br />IN THE ORANGE COUNTY NARCOTICS INDEX AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID <br />AGREEMENTS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana and other Orange County <br />cities have entered into prior agreements under the terms <br />of which the parties agreed to participate, with other cities <br />within Orange County and with various County of Orange agencies, <br />to form a Narcotics Task Force; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, identical new agreements have been prepared <br />providing that each city pays a pro-rata share of the expense, <br />based on its population, to the City of Santa Ana in return <br />for the City of Santa Ana's agreement to administer the Nar- <br />cotics Index; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such Narcotics Task Force will provide essential <br />timely, expeditious and continually available support to the <br />Task Force members and interface with other law enforcement <br />agencies in the area of narcotic oriented intelligence collec- <br />tion, analyzation and distribution; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />and will conti <br />Department Bui <br /> <br />a Narcotic Index Office has been established <br />nue to be located within the Santa Ana Police <br />lding; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council authorized the Chief of Police <br />to file an application for U.S. Department of Justice Law <br />Enforcement Assistance Grant action funds pursuant to Santa <br />Ana City Council Resolution No. 74-123; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor is hereby <br />authorized to execute an agreement with the cities of Anaheim, <br />Brea, Buena Park, Costa Mesa, Cypress, Fountain Valley, <br />Fullerton, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Laguna <br />Beach, La Habra, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Newport Beach, <br />Orange, Placentia, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Santa <br />Ana, Seal Beach, Stanton, Tustin, Villa Park, Westminster, <br />Yorba Linda with the following terms: <br /> <br /> In consideration of the benefits to be derived from the <br />establishment of the Narcotic Index Office, by each party, <br />the parties hereto agree as follows: <br /> <br />The Director of Finance for the City of Santa Ana <br />shall, upon award of a Grant resulting from said <br />application, simultaneously establish a special <br />trust fund designated for Narcotics Task Force <br />Hard Cash Matching Funds. Said trust fund shall <br />be in the amount of Five Thousand Three Hundred <br />and Thirty Three Dollars ($5,333.00) and shall be <br />disbursed in a manner consistent with the grant <br />conditions. He shall also establish a special <br />trust fund to provide the required accountability <br />for the project. <br /> <br /> <br />
