Thc number of law bnforcement officers assigned <br />to the Task Force will vary with the size of the <br />department. Ail law enforcement officers assigned <br />will be fully experienced ill narcotics and nar~ <br />cotJcs enforcement. The nucleus of the Task Froce <br />Js the Executive Committee. The Executive Com~ <br />mittee is composed of six sergeants, three of <br />whom are replaced semi-annually by election of <br />the membership. <br /> <br />Narcotic Indek.- The Orange County narcotics Task <br />Force now in operation is supported by ah Orange <br />County Narcotics index which is staffed by a <br />coordinator~ analyst, stenographer and clerk <br />typist, The narcotics index is subordinate to <br />the Orange County Task Force and look to it for <br />direction and inte!lJgence input. <br /> <br />C. Objectives <br /> <br />The major task of the Orange County Narcqtic Index <br />is to assist local law enforcement ~arcotJc officers <br />to subs%ant!a].ly reduce 'the drug abuse problem <br />and related crimes in their respective jurisdictions. <br />By analyking narcb'tic intelligence information sub - <br />mitred from throughout .the county, the Index staff <br />will be able to establish trends and patterns in <br />narcotic moveraent. In addition~ narcotic peddlers <br />of interest %o multiple agencies car, be ~dentifie~ <br />and "targeted'~ for a joint effort by the agencies <br />concerned.
