The City is currently planning a consolidated police <br /> and fire department co.~munications center jointly with <br /> future ~ncorporat_on of at lease one additional city. <br /> (See Appendix A). <br /> <br />2. It is the county seat of government and is centrally <br /> located. <br /> <br /> 3. It is currently a..~L~inistrating several programs on a <br /> regional basis. (Orange County Narcotics Index,- Orange <br /> County Burglary Prevention Index, and Orange County <br /> Auto Theft Prevention Program). <br /> <br /> 4. The ' ~' <br /> lntera_._lon '-=~. ~ these programs and the ex- <br /> <br /> change of information with other agencies will benefit <br /> not only the individual programs, but county law en- <br /> forcement as a <br /> <br /> 5. The C'ity of Sant~ Aha has the second largest municipal <br /> police department in Orange County and has been desig- <br /> nated as a "high crime" city by the OCJP. (Santa' Ana <br /> has one of the largest crime rates in the county.) <br /> <br /> <br />
