RESOLUTION NO. 74-165 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE FEDERAL <br />AID URBAN THREE YEAR (F.Y. 1973-74, 1974-75, 1975-76) PROGRAM <br />THE DEVELOPMENT OF CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN THE CITY OF SANTA <br />ANA <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana desires to improve certain streets <br />within the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these streets are important to transportation planning in <br />the County of Orange and of general County interest; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1973 provides Federal Funds <br />for expenditure on the Federal-Aid Urban (FAU) System of Highways and non <br />highway public mass transit projects; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the FAU System consists of certain eligible State highways, <br />County roads and City streets located within urban and urbanized areas of <br />the State; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation intends that <br />funds be allocated to the urbanized and urban areas on the basis of proportional <br />population in conformance with the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1973; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation has specified <br />that each urban and urbanized area must develop an acceptable process for <br />reviewing projects and recommending priorities and that the appropriate <br />regional planning agency (SCAG) must concur with the process; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a FAU process has been approved for the County of Orange, <br />in accordance with the above requirements, which will establish a FAU Three <br />Year Program (FY 1973-74, 1974-75, and 1975-76); <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City <br />of Santa Ana hereby requests the inclusion in the Orange County FAU Three <br />Year Program the acquisition of right of way on certain streets as follows: <br /> <br />Street Project <br /> <br />First Street <br />Bush St. to Standard Ave. <br /> <br /> T,ype Cpst <br />Right of Way $455,000 <br /> <br />Requested <br />FAU Funds <br /> <br />$377,650 <br /> <br />McFadden Avenue <br />Broadway to Orange Ave. <br /> <br />Santa Ana Boulevard <br /> <br />Raitt St. to Westminster <br />Ave <br /> <br />Right of Way 588,000 488,040 <br />Right of Way 600,000 498,000 <br />Total $1,643,000 $1,363,690 <br /> <br /> Said right of way acquisition is to be in accordance with the attached <br />preliminary project statements. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That, by this Resolution, the City of Santa <br />Ana will comply with the basic policies and procedures of the Orange County <br />FAU Program; and its share of the cost of right of way acquisition, which <br />is presently estimated to be $279,310, will be available for the fiscal years <br />1975-76 and 1976-77. <br /> <br /> <br />
