FIM:nr <br />May 1, 1975 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 75-40 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA COMMENDING COMPUTER <br />ELECTION SYSTEMS FOR SERVICES TO THE MUNICIPAL <br />ELECTION OF APRIL 1, 1975 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Computer Election Systems provided the voters <br />of the City of Santa Ana the opportunity to use the "Voto- <br />matic," a punch card method of electronic voting, at the <br />Municipal Election held on April 1, 1975, for a minimal fee; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Computer Election Systems' servioes included a <br />minicomputer, especially designed to process punch card elec- <br />tion ballots, precinct office training, programming logistics <br />assistance, voter education programs as well as outstanding <br />personal attention to detailed coordination of the countless <br />election operations; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, precinct survey established an overwhelming <br />preference for the "Votomatic" method by all Santa Ana voters <br />by the precinct officers themselves; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of <br />the City of Santa Ana highly commends Computer Election Systems <br />for the efficiency, speed and accuracy of the "Votomatic" <br />system, and for its public service awareness in making this <br />responsive system availabe to the voters of Santa Ana. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council suggests to <br />the Board of Supervisors of Orange County that it give serious <br />consideration to the "Votomatic" System for Countywide implemen- <br />tation so that all of the voters of Orange County may enjoy its <br />many benefits. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana at its regular meeting held on the ~th day <br />of May , 1975. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br />
