SUMMARY OF HOUSING <br /> AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC <br /> CONDITIONS <br /> <br />HOUSEHOLD, CHARACTERISTICS <br /> <br />TENURE <br /> <br />57% of the households in Santa Aha own their own <br />home as compared with 65~ in Orange County. <br /> <br />Only 43% of black households and of Spanish- <br />American households in Santa Aha own their <br />own home. <br /> <br />Elderly households have higher homeownershtp <br />rates than other households in Santa Anao <br /> <br />HOUSEH~LD SIZE <br /> <br />Two, three, and four person households are a majority <br />of all households and they are growing in numbers <br />faster than all larger household sizes. However, <br />a majority of persons live in households with four <br />or more members. <br /> <br />Currently, there are approximately 3.06 persons per <br />household in Santa Aha, a decrease from the 1970 <br />level of 3.26 persons per household. <br /> <br />Renter households tend to be smaller than <br />homeowner households. <br /> <br />Blacks and, especially, Spanish-Americans have <br />larger households than average households.
