In general, areas ~denti~,ed as'Potential Problem <br />Areas for the C~ty of Santa Aha clustered eroun~ <br />rec0gn~zable target are& locations. Even though <br />these areas are presently not ss critical ss the <br />target areas, these locations could prove to be <br />the more serious end substantial housing problems <br />face~ by the City in the future due to their ex- <br />pansive area and large number of units. <br /> <br />SOCIO~Eq~01~0MIC C~RACTERISTIC~ <br /> <br /> Santa Ana is a central city of the Anaheim-Santa Aha-Garden Grove <br />S~andar~ Metropolitan Statistical Area (Orange County). In April <br />1970, there were 156, 448 persons living in Santa Ans. This number <br />reflects the population enumerated during the 1970 Census of Popula- <br />tion and Housing. The June 30, 1974 estimated population of the City <br />is 183,768 persons. Both the 1970 and 1974 City's population repre- <br />sented 11% of the total population of Orange County. <br /> <br />There were 146,247 white persons livlng in the City, or 93.4 percent <br />of the total populatlon in 1970.
