HS/plc <br />July 2, 1975 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 75-83 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY CO~CIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA EXPRESSING ITS DESIRE <br />TO CONTINUE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A COM- <br />PUTERIZED GEO-CODED DATA BASE SYSTEM IN <br />COOPERATION WITH CERTAIN ORANGE COUNTY <br />CITIES AND ACQUIRE SECOND YEAR FEDERAL <br />FUNDS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND <br />URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR SUCH PURPOSES <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana desires to continue <br />to develop a computerized demographic and land-use infor- <br />mation system and to further the development and use of <br />the federally-funded computerized GEO-CODED BASE PROGRAM; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cities of Anaheim, Garden Grove, <br />Huntington Beach are participating with the City of Santa <br />Ana and also have expressed the desire to continue in the <br />development of such a system in order to promote effi- <br />ciency and eliminate the duplication of effort on these <br />matters; and <br /> <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Devel- <br />opment of the United States (HUD) has, under the Compre- <br />hensive Planning Assistance Program, made available <br />$150,000 to be funded for the purpose of further devel- <br />oping the above-named system; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Devel- <br />opment will make the $150,000 grant available to the Cities <br />of Santa Ana, Anaheim, Garden Grove and Huntington Beach, <br />upon application, and such Cities named above may continue <br />to contribute in-kind contributions of staff and other City <br />resources as their one-third contribution upon the under- <br />standing that such balance is to be paid by HUD; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana is authorized to <br />contract with other agencies, and to enter joint-power <br />agreements with other public agencies pursuant to Section <br />6500 et seq. of the Government Code of the State of Cali- <br />fornia and, in addition, has been authorized to enter into such <br />agreement with the above Cities pursuant to Resolution 74-82; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the cooperative development of management <br />information system, known as the GEO-CODED BASE is mutually <br />beneficial to the Cities of Santa Ana, Anaheim, Garden Grove <br />and Huntington Beach, and has shown to be within the <br />best interests of the City Departments of the City of <br />Santa Ana during the first year of the project. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council <br />of the City of Santa Ana does hereby express its desire and <br />willingness to continue to participate in the development <br />of the GEO-CODED DATA BASE SYSTEM with the Cities of Anaheim, <br />Garden Grove and Huntington Beach. <br /> <br /> <br />
