RESOLUTION NO. 75-112 <br /> <br />CJL:plc <br />8-11-75 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA ESTABLISHING A FEE OF $57 (FIFTY- <br />SEVEN DOLLARS) EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 1975, FOR EMER- <br />GENCY TRANSPORTATION OF PERSONS IN PARAMEDIC OR OTHER <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT VEHICLES TO A HOSPITAL FOR MEDICAL <br />CARE AND FOR EMERGENCY SERVICES RENDERED TO <br />PERSONS BY PARAMEDICS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH THE SANTA <br />ANA-TUSTIN COMMUNITY HOSPITAL TO BILL AND COL- <br />LECT SUCH FEE AT THE REQUEST OF THE FINANCE <br />DIRECTOR FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE CITY OF SANTA <br />ANA AT A CHARGE TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA OF $3 <br /> (THREE DOLLARS) PER PATIENT TRANSPORTED <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana on <br />May 5, 1975, adopted Santa Ana City Ordinance NS-1225, effec- <br />tive June 4, 1975, authorizing the Santa Ana City Council <br />to adopt a resolution to establish fees and authorizing the <br />City of Santa Ana to bill and collect fees for emergency <br />transportation of persons in paramedic or other Santa Ana <br />Fire Department vehicles to a hospital for medical care and <br />for emergency services rendered to persons by paramedics; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Santa Ana-Tustin Community Hospital, <br />a California non-profit corporation, is equipped to bill <br />and collect aforesaid fee for the City of Santa Ana as an <br />independent contractor at the request of the Finance Director <br />of the City of Santa Ana, at a charge of $3 (Three Dollars) <br />per patient transported to the City of Santa Ana, which <br />charge is less than the cost to the City of Santa Ana to <br />bill and collect for said transportation, medical care and <br />emergency services; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, aforedescribed Ordinance NS-1255 provides <br />that the fee for transportation of persons in paramedic or <br />other Fire Department vehicles shall not be less than the <br />average fee charged by commercial ambulances for comparable <br />services in the City of Santa Ana; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there is established by this Resolution a <br />fee of $57 (Fifty-seven Dollars) effective on October 1, <br />1975, for emergency transportation of persons in paramedic <br />or other City of Santa Ana Fire Department vehicles to a <br />hospital for medical care and for emergency services rendered <br />to persons by paramedics, which fee includes a $7 (Seven <br />Dollars) charge for medical supplies. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council <br />of the City of Santa Ana as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. That there is hereby established a $57 (Fifty-seven <br />Dollars) fee which shall be charged, commencing October 1, <br />1975, to each person who receives emergency transportation <br />in paramedic or other City of Santa Ana Fire Department <br />vehicles to a hospital for medical care and for emergency <br />services rendered to persons by paramedics. <br /> <br /> 2. That it is hereby found and determined that said <br />$57 (Fifty-seven Dollars) fee is not less than the average <br /> <br /> <br />
