Description of Proposal: <br /> <br />The applicants, The Small World Community Development <br />Corporation, a non-profit organization, proposes the <br />establishment of an infant day care center for low <br />income, welfare families and infants in one parent homes <br />in an existing single family residence. The applicants <br />plan for a maximum of 16 infants at one time. This <br />would include: 8 infants, age 6 weeks to 13 months; 8 <br />toddlers, age 13 months to 2 1/2 years. <br /> <br />The teacher-child ratio would be 1 to 4 paid staff plus <br />a director and an assistant director. According to the <br />applicants, teachers will be paid from revenue sharing <br />funds. <br /> <br />The subject residence contains approximately 1,200 square <br />feet. The rear yard is fenced and contains approxi- <br />mately 1,850 square feet. <br /> <br />While the.Department of Housing and Urban Development <br />(HUD) owns the subject property, this agency is merely <br />leasing the land and will not be involved in the pro- <br />ject. HUD states that the house, while undergoing <br />improvements, must still remain a residence. <br /> <br />2. Area Description: <br /> <br />A. Property: <br /> <br />The subject lot is 60' x 107' with an area of 6,420 <br />square feet located on the west side of Forest <br />Avenue north of Myrtle Street. <br /> <br />CuP 75-7 Page 1. <br /> <br /> <br />
