KLG:nr <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 75~44 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA ENDORSING SAID CITY AS THE SITE <br />FOR THE STATE POLICE OLYMPICS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the California State Police Athletic Federation <br />holds annual Olympic Games with participation by several thousand <br />law enforcement officers from throughout the state; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these games are held during August at sites <br />alternately in the northern and southern sections of the state; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the games have not been held in the County of <br />Orange since 1967; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the games provide an opportunity for rigorous <br />competition between Police Officers in some 40 events of sports <br />and professional activities including marksmanship; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange has <br />outstanding facilities for the games as well as accomodations <br />and recreation for the families of participating officers; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Santa Ana Police Benevolent Association, <br />with the support of the Santa Ana civic and business community, <br />is strongly desirous of hosting the games in 1977; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the citizens of Santa Ana warmly welcome the <br />participants and their families; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council <br />of the City of Santa Ana, California, endorses the selection of <br />the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange as the site of the 1977 <br />California State Police Olympics; <br /> <br /> AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Santa Ana, <br />California recommends such selection to the California State <br />Police Athletic Federation. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of <br />Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 6th <br />day of October , 1975. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />FLORENCE I.
