<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the recommendation~
<br />of the Planning Commission was approved and the variance of Alexander V. Sanchez
<br />granted to permit the construction of a second single-f~mily dwelling on front part
<br />of lot at 1919 West Third Street, in addition to existing dwelling on rear part of
<br />the lot, in an R-2 District, with a distance of only t1' between buildings instead
<br />of the required 15', subject to conditions as imposed by the Department of ~,~blic
<br />Works.

<br />Communication was read from the Pla~ming Commission recommending denial of variance
<br />application of Leona E. ArmstronG to permit the establislnnent and operation of a
<br />beauty shop in existin6 garage, which is part of the main residence with entrance
<br />from a rear alley, on property at 510 South Bristol Street~ with a sign not to
<br />exceed 1' × 3', in front, and off-street parking for at least four ears. On motion
<br />of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the recommendation of the
<br />Plannin~ Commission was approved and the variance denied.

<br />On motion of Cou~nci/man Hall, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the recommendation
<br />of the Planning Commission was approved auld the variance of ;g N. Zale granted to
<br />permit the erection of a 25' x 60' one-story metal building, on property at 1668
<br />East PaLm Street, to be used for the receiving and storage 'of food stuffs for dis-
<br />tribution to food catering trucks, subject to the provisions of the PK Ordinance
<br />but did not concur in the recon~nendation of the Department of Public Works.

<br />Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending approval of re-
<br />quest of Harry Tancredi for abandonment of an alley located just north of the Santa
<br />Aha Freeway off Valencia Street, subject to certain conditions, and on motion of
<br />Councilms~u Hall, seconded by Markel and carried, the communication was received
<br />and filed. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the
<br />matter was referred to the Mma~ager for report.

<br />On motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Hubbard and carried, Revised Tentative
<br />Map of Tract No. 3252, submitted by Lemon Heights Investment Corporation, of property
<br />located on the south side of Fruit Street, beginning at a point approximately 400'
<br />east of the center line of Fruit Street and Grand Avenue and consisting of fourteen
<br />lots, was approved, subject to condition that the subdivider meets all standard
<br />drainage provisions as required by the Department of Public Works.

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, Record of Survey
<br />
<br />M~p submitted by Southern Pacific Railroad Company, on six acres of land located
<br />
<br />on the south side of Delhi Road, beginning at a point 990' west of the center line
<br />of Main Street and Delhi Road, with a frontage of 500' on Delhi Road, and check of
<br />Sears, Roebuck and Company, in the sum of $3,750.00, submitted in lieu of bond,
<br />were approved and agreement was ordered signed.

<br />It was moved by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, that escrow
<br />instructions be approved and signed with Antone Lopizich~ Peter N. Perak et ux, for
<br />property at the southwest corner of Fourth and Bristol Streets, in the sum of
<br />
<br />$~, 224.53.

<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />Coln~cilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the folio%ring Resolution
