RESOLUTION NO. 76-83 <br /> <br />A RE~0LUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AMEI~]ING SECTION 3 OF RESOLUTION NO. 58-281 DESIGNATING <br />CEP~TAIN POSITION CLASSIFICATIONS AS EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT <br />AIqD PROVIDING COMPENSATION ADJUSTMENTS FOR THOSE CLASSES <br /> <br /> WHEIREAS, on November 3, 1958, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution No. <br />58-281 re-establishing a basic compensation plan for all officers and employees of the <br />City of Santa Aha; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has from time to time amended said Resolution; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council did, on July 19, 1976, approve two-year Memoranda of <br />Understanding between the City of Santa Ana and thmseveral formally recognized <br />associations of City employees providing for certain adjustments in the wages, hours, <br />working conditions and other terms and conditions of employment during Fiscal Years <br />1976-77 and 1977-78 for all employees in budgeted, full-time positions~ except for <br />those in certain unrepresented executive and middle-management classes; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ it is now desired to 1) specifically designate certain class titles <br />among the classes of employment listed in Section 3 of Resolution No. 58-281, as <br />amended~ as being Unrepresented Executive Management classes in order to more <br />clearly distinguish them from other unrepresented management classes and from <br />management and non-management classes represented by the formally recognized <br />employee associations and 2) to adjust the salary range allocations and certain <br />other factors of compensation for said Unrepresented Executive Management classes; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Section 3 of Resolution No. 58-281, as <br />amended, is hereby further amended by assigning to the following class titles the <br />parenthetical designation (EM) as designating Unrepresented "Executive Management" <br />and the new salary range number together with the effective dates as next herein set out: <br /> <br />CLASS TITLE <br /> <br /> SALARY RANGE NUMBERS <br />7-1-76 10-1-76 1-1-77 4-1-77 <br /> <br />Assistant City Manager (EM) 537 <br />Community Development Coordinator (EM) 388 <br />Director of Building Safety & Housing (EM) 481 <br />Director of Community Relations (EM) 377 <br />Director of Finance (EM) 497 <br />Director of Recreation & Parks (EM) 470 <br />Director of Personnel (EM) 486 <br />Director of Planning (EM) 495 <br />Director of Public Works (EM) 524 <br />Equipment Maintenance Superintendent (EM) 416 <br />Executive Director of Administrative Services (EM) 496 <br />Executive Director of Cormaunity Services (EM) 496 <br />Executive Director-Redevelopment Agency (EM) 503 <br />Fire Chief (EM) 503 <br />Library Director (EM) 476 <br />Museum Director (EM) 431 <br />Police Chief (EM) 521 <br /> <br />381 385 389 <br />476 482 488 <br /> <br />420 424 426 <br /> <br />507 <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER P. ESOLVED: That Resolution No. 58-281, as amended, is hereby further <br />amended by adding thereto a new section as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 3.2: Employee Benefits. Each officer and employee of the City who is <br />employed in a position in any of the classifications listed in Section 3 of this <br />Resolution which has been specified by the parenthetical designation (EM) as designating <br />Unrepresented Executive Management~ shall receive as additional compensation, the <br />following employee benefits: <br /> <br /> a. Deferred Compensation. Effective January 1, 1977, each affected employee <br />shall receive as deferred compensation an amount equal to one percent (1.0%) of his <br />or her monthly salary. The amounts contributed by the City under this provision shall <br />be subject to the general terms and conditions of the City of Santa Ama Deffered Com- <br />pensation Plan, and subject further to the conditions that: <br /> <br />(1) the employee shall have no vested rights in the amounts contributed by <br />the City until termination of employment with the City; <br /> <br />(2) City will pay the total amount of contributions plus any earnings to the <br />employee upon termination, resignation, retirement, dismissal or death. <br /> <br /> <br />
