Book 12029 Page 1782 CTD:ar <br />January 11, 1977 9:05 a.m. 12/16/76 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 76-155 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA VACATING A PORTION OF <br />THE ALLEY IN BLOCK "B" OF THE WILEY'S <br />ADDITION TO THE TOWN OF SANTA ANA, LYING <br />NORTH OF 17TH STREET, EAST OF MAIN STREET <br />AND WEST OF BUSH STREET IN THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City <br />of Santa Ana: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council heretofore adopted, on Decem- <br />ber 6, 1976, a Resolution No. 76-125, wherein it declared <br />its intention to vacate pursuant to and in accordance with <br />the provisions of Part III of Division 9 of the Streets and <br />Highways Code of the State of California, a portion of the <br />alley in Block "B" of the Wiley's Addition to the Town of <br />Santa Ana, recorded in Book 17, page 36 of Miscellaneous Records <br />of Los Angeles County, California, said portion of said alley <br />being specifically described in said Resolution and reference <br />being made in said Resolution to a certain map on file in <br />the office of the Clerk of Council for full particulars as <br />to such proposed vacations; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said Resolution gave notice that on the <br />20th day of December, 1976, at 7:30 P.M. or as soon thereafter <br />as the matter can be heard, in the Council Chambers of the <br />City Council, at City Hall in the City of Santa Ana, 20 Civic <br />Center Plaza, Santa Ana, California, this Council would hear <br />any and all persons interested in or objecting to said pro- <br />posed vacation of that said portion of the alley in Block <br />"B" of the Wiley's Addition to the Town of Santa Ana; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council finds that said Resolution <br />has been published in the manner prescribed by law for the <br />publishing of ordinances of the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council further finds that notices <br />of said proposed street vacations stating the purpose of said <br />resolution and time and place set for hearing, were posted <br />as directed by the Council and required by law; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council at the time and place set <br />for hearing has heard any and all persons interested in or <br />objecting to said proposed vacation of said portion of said <br />alley, and has received and considered all evidence submitted; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council finds, from all the evidence <br />submitted, that the said portion of the said alley described <br />in the above mentioned Resolution, and described more fully <br />in "Exhibit A" attached hereto, is unnecessary for present <br />or prospective street purposes based upon the following find- <br />ings of fact: <br /> <br /> 1. The alley will be relocated across Lot 7 to <br />Main Street and will provide all adjacent properties with <br />access to that public street. <br /> <br /> 2. The relocation of the alley will provide for <br />safer traffic movement on 17th Street by removing alley access <br />from 17th Street and relocating the access to Main Street <br />which has approximately one-half the traffic volume as 17th <br />Street. Access to a street with a lesser volume of traffic <br />will decrease traffic conflicts. <br /> <br /> <br />
