Lyle Nelson reference to the law on retirement of safety employees, <br />was received and filed and Attorney Otto A. Jacobs to be advised that the Council <br />deny his interpretation of the law set forth in letter dated June 25, 1957, quoting <br />Sections 21264 and 21337 of the Government Code of California, providing for an <br /> <br />allowance to the survivors of retired safety employees. <br />. <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the request by the <br />parents of students attending Jefferson School for the City to accept the use of a <br />portable traffic signal at the intersection of Seventeenth and Ross Streets, was <br /> <br />denied and the Clerk instructed to so notify Mr. Virgil H. Reed. <br />. <br />The Council having unanimousl~ waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of <br /> <br />Councilman Gould, seconded by Markel and carried, the following Resolution entitled.~ <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. 57-279 concerni~ par~ing limitations and curb markings <br /> in accordance therewith" <br /> <br />repealing red curbs and crosswalk on Broadway between Eighth and Sixth Streets, was <br />considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Counc~lm~n Stanley C.
