RESOLUTION NO. 77-16 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING <br />RESOLUTION NO. 58-281 TO ESTABLISH A NEW ASSIGNMENT PAY DIFFERENTIAL, <br />ADD A NEW TYPIST CLERK CLASS, AND PROVIDE FOR CERTAIN OTHER REVISION <br />TO THE TYPIST CLERK SERIES OF CLASSES. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on November 3, 1958, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution No. <br />58-281, revising and re-establishing the Basic Compensation Plan for all officers and <br />employees of the City of Santa Aha; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of Santa Ana <br />requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position classification <br />and pay plan subject to civil service rules and regulations and the approval of the <br />City Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has from time to time amended said Resolution; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a recently concluded in-depth analysis and evaluation of the Police <br />Department Records Section staffing pattern reveals a need to revise the structure of <br />its clerical series and to provide for certain lead supervisory positions in order to <br />maintain the high level of service required to support line units operating under the <br />City's Con,unity Oriented Team Policing Program; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is now desired to make several changes in the City's Classification <br />and Compensation Plan, all related to and affecting the Typist Clerk series of classes. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Section 3 of Resolution No. 58-281, as amended, <br />is hereby further amended by: <br /> <br />1. Adding the following notations to the list of footnotes at the end of <br /> Section 3: <br /> <br /><f) <br /> <br />Effective February 16, 1977, personnel in the class of Typist <br />Clerk II in the Police Department Records Section who are <br />assigned to and performing in a "lead supervisory" capacity <br />over a primary functional unit of clerical employees will <br />be paid an additional forty dollars ($40.00) per month. <br /> <br />(z) <br /> <br />designates "Terminal Classification". A class so designated <br />will be deleted from the classification plan when vacated by the <br />last remaining incumbent. No appointments may be made to the <br />class once it has been designated as "terminal" by Council <br />action. <br /> <br />2. Changing the class title of Typist Clerk II to Typist Clerk III and <br /> adding the parenthetical designation (T) next to the title. <br /> <br />3. Changing the class title of Typist Clerk I to Typist Clerk II. <br /> <br />4.
