SUch lighting devices shall <br />be equipped with a minimum equivalent of a 60-watt incandescent <br />light bulb. <br /> <br />Lighting for exterior walkways, carport areas and recreation areas <br />shall meet with the standards of the Illuminating Engineers' Society <br />or shall meet with the approval of the Police Department. This <br />lighting shall be maintained at the recommended wattage and foot <br />candle levels during the hours of darkness or in those areas that <br />maintain darkness. <br /> <br />The buildings shall be clearly identified by street number address. <br />Each building within the complex shall be identified with numbers <br />and/or letters. These numbers and/or letters shall be a minimum <br />of four inches in height, be of contrasting color to the background, <br />and must be visible from traveled access areas. <br /> <br />Shrubbery, walls and storage areas shall be designed so as to pre- <br />vent individuals from easily concealing themselves. <br /> <br />Shrubbery shall be planted and trimmed so that exterior doors and <br />windows are not hidden from view. <br /> <br />Maps of the completed complex shall be submitted to the Police <br />Department. Specifications of the maps are: <br /> <br />a) Maps must be 8 x 10. <br />b) Exact numbers and addresses of complex. <br />c) North, south, east and west direction indicated. <br />d) Surrounding streets clearly labeled. <br />e) Label gates, card keyed, open or locked. <br /> f) Label pools, tennis courts, recreation hall, office. <br /> g) Indicate pedestrian walkways and driveways. <br /> h) Clearing distinguish buildings and individual units. <br /> <br />Exterior lighting shall have vandal-resistant covers. <br /> <br />Overhead garage doors shall be secured with a haap, which has <br />hidden bolts when in a closed position, placed on opposing edges <br />of the exterior of the door and/or a metal side bar or cane bolts <br />on the interior of the door when not otherwise controlled or <br />locked by electric power operation. <br /> <br />VA 76-57 Page 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
