~ITY OF SANTA <br /> <br />ASSISTAI~T HOUSING COORDINATOR <br /> <br />DEFINITION <br /> <br />Under general supervision, assists in planning, supervising and coordinating the <br />City's Housing Authority activities and provides responsible administrative staff <br />services as assigned. <br /> <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES <br /> <br />Confers with administrative superior regarding development, modification and <br />implementation of operational policies, procedures and priorities for the City's <br />housing assistance programs; provides day-to-day supervision of assigned phases <br />of housing authority operation, including administrative services; supervises <br />maintenance of financial records and prepares reports; assists in the preparation <br />of annual budgets and the control of expenditures; supervises and participates in <br />processing, investigating, documenting and resolving complaints from applicants, <br />tenants and property owners; supervises and participates in orientation briefings <br />for applicants, property owners and realty groups regarding housing authority poli- <br />cies, procedures and regulations; prepares or assists with preparation of periodic <br />and special operational, financial and other reports for administrative superiors, <br />housing commission and HUD; may assume responsibility for supervision of housing <br />authority activites in the absence or at the direction of administrative superior; <br />performs other related administrative, technical and supervisory duties as required. <br /> <br />DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS <br /> <br />An employee of this class performs responsible administrative and technical work <br />requiring initiative and mature Judgment in the application of local, state and <br />federal administrative policies, procedures and regulations pertaining to the <br />operation of local housing assistance programs. Work involves substantial amount <br />of public contact and the review, analyzes and interpretation of rules and regula- <br />tions pertaining to public housing programs, Work also requires preparation of <br />comprehensive financial, budgetary and operational reports. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED MINIMUM qUALIFICATIONS <br /> <br />Graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in public <br />administration, political science, business administration or a related field and <br />one year of administrative staff experience or any equivalent combination of training <br />and experience which provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities: <br /> <br />K~OWLEDGE OF: principles and practices of public administration; operation, services <br />and activites of public housing programs; and municipal government organization and <br />functions. <br />ABILITY TO: plan, organize, supervise and coordinate administrative activities; <br />secure and analyze facts, drew logical conclusions, exercise independent judgment, <br />and make decisions; understand, explain and interpret policies, procedures and <br /> <br />regulations of a,-~na~.M~r_e~_l~_~par.~.~lear .and_oonais~-xeports and corres- <br />pondence; and establish ar~d~a%~v~aip e{fecti,w~,lVg, N~tl~g relationships with agency <br /> <br />CLERI{ OF TFi, ..... ,_ <br /> <br />41 <br /> <br /> <br />
