JDC: mir <br />3-3~77 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 77-34 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA URGING THE COUNTY OF <br />ORANGE TO PLACE THE ENTIRE CITY OF SANTA <br />ANA WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF ONE SUPER- <br />VISORIAL DISTRICT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana, with a population of 181,000 <br />is the second largest city in Orange County; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana is presently divided into <br />three supervisorial districts, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the present fragmented boundary configuration is <br />not conducive to smooth and convenient relations with the County of <br />Orange, because no single supervisor represents the entirety of the <br />City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Santa Ana do not pre- <br />sently all vote in the same election for the same supervisor; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, relations between the City of <br />County of Orange are vital to all residents of <br />County; <br /> <br />Santa Ana and the <br />the City and the <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the <br />City of Santa Ana requests that new supervisorial boundaries be so <br />drawn as to include the entire City of Santa Ana within the bound- <br />aries of one supervisorial district; and <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Council is <br />hereby directed to send a copy of this resolution to all members of <br />the Orange County Board of Supervisors and to the Ad Hoc Supervisorial <br />District Boundary Committee. <br /> <br /> ADOPTED this 7th day of March , 1977, by the <br />following vote: <br /> <br />AYES, <br /> <br />COUNCILMEN: Yamamoto, Bricken, Ortiz, Evans <br /> <br />NOES, <br /> <br />COUNCILMEN: None <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />ABSENT, <br /> <br />COUNCILMEN: Gar~Trandt, Ward <br /> <br />KEITH L.
