EJC:adg <br />6/27/77 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA REPEALING RESOLUTION 76-66 AND <br />ESTABLISHING REVISED SCHEDULE OF RATES FOR <br />REFUSE COLLECTION EFFECTIVE AUGUST 1, 1977. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Article II, Chapter 16 of the Santa Aha <br />Municipal Code provides for refuse collection regulation and <br />authorizes the establishment of charges for the collection <br />and disposal of refuse by resolution; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Resolution 76-66 established rates for <br />collection and disposal of refuse including rates for com- <br />mercial containers which have been in effect since October 1975; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, increased costs now require an upward <br />adjustment in residential collection charges; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Resolution <br />76-66 is repealed, effective August 1, 1977. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the rates hereinbelow <br />set out are the rates that shall be due to the City for the <br />collection and disposal of refuse and/or for standby or the <br />availability of said service. Said rates shall be added to <br />the rate charges for water service and billed with the bill <br />for water service. Any residential, commercial, or industrial <br />occupancy not served by a separate water meter, shall be sep- <br />arately billed for standby collection and refuse disposal <br />service. All rates for such services shall be due and payable <br />at the Finance Department in the City Hall on the date of <br />billing therefor and become delinquent fifteen (15) days from <br />and after the date of such billing. A penalty of 10% shall be <br />charged on all unpaid bills for such service thirty (30) days <br />from and after the billing date. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the rates to be <br />charged for standby collection and refuse disposal service are <br />hereby established in accordance with the schedule hereinafter <br />set out: <br /> <br />Schedule of Rates for Refuse Collection and <br /> Standby Service <br /> <br />1. The basic rate for each single family residence <br />for each two months, or part thereof, shall be <br />f~urdollars and seventy-six cents ($4.76). <br /> <br />2. The basic rate for each duplex family residence <br />for each two months, or part thereof, shall be <br />seven dollars and eighty cents ($7.80). <br /> <br />3. The basic rate for all triplex family residences <br />for each two months, or part thereof, shall be <br />ten dollars and sixty-eight cents ($10.68). <br /> <br /> <br />
