<br /> This being the d~te set for hearing protests on the abatement of weeds, J.W.Julien,
<br /> 928 Cypress Avenue, requested an extension of time, until June l, 1958, on the
<br /> cleaning of weeds on his property at 1042 Wilshire Avenue. The Council having
<br /> unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Councilm~n Hubbard,
<br /> seconded by Mai 1 and carried, the following Resolution entitled:
<br />
<br /> "A Resolution ordering the Street Superintendent to abate the
<br /> public nuisance heretofore declared by the City Council of
<br /> the City of Santa Ana, to-wit: Weeds which bear seeds of a
<br /> wingy or downy nature and attain such a large growth as to
<br /> become a fire menace when dry and ~hich are noxious and
<br /> dangerous, growing upon certain streets, sidewalks and private
<br /> ~roperty in the City of Santa ~a, by having the weeds referred
<br /> to removed"
<br />
<br /> was considered and passed by the following vote:
<br />
<br /> Ayes, Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Stanley C. Gould, Jr.,
<br /> A.A.Hall, J. Ogden Markel, Dale H. Neinly

<br />'On motion of Councilman Hall, seconded by Gould and carried, the request of J. W.
<br />Julien was granted for an extension of time to June l, 1958 to destroy the weeds
<br />on his property at 1042 Wilshire Avenue.
<br />
<br /> Communication was read from Attorney John D. Cochran submitting maps and a letter
<br /> from the Orange County Title Company with reference to Preliminary Map filed on
<br /> property of Trino M. Reynoso situated at the northwest corner of Evergreen Street
<br /> and St. Andrew Place. On motion of Councilman Hall, seconded by Gould and
<br /> the communications and maps were received and filed. Attorney Cochran stated Mr.
<br /> Reynoso checked with the City staff and was advised he could divide his property
<br /> into two lots and secured a building permit and a street number. Also, M~r. Reynoso
<br /> has spent a considerable amount of money for the lot and present construction.

<br /> It was moved by Councilman Gould and seconded by Hubbard, that the Preliminary
<br /> Record of Survey Map be received, filed and approved, subject to conditions of the
<br /> Department of Public Works.

<br /> nary Map as proposed . be disapproved as it would permit the improvement of said
<br /> property with only a 4 foot side-yard setback and said setback is inconsistent
<br /> with the improvement of other lots on Evergreen Street; the said improvement would
<br /> be 26 feet easterly from said line of said houses on Evergreen Street, thereby
<br />
<br /> having an effect upon the valuation of the property and on the "prospective" key

<br /> On motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Hubbard and carried, Tentative Map of
<br /> Tract No. 2140 filed by Midco, proposed subdividers of property bounded on the
<br /> west by proposed Fairview Boulevard, on the south by Delhi Road, on the east by a
<br /> line approximately 320 feet west of the west line of the John Adams School and Park
<br /> consisting of some 71 acres, or 3B7 lots, was approved subject to conditions of
<br /> the Department of Public Works.

<br />Communication was read frem the Planning C~mm~ e~ion recommending approval of vari-
<br />ance application of George Buban to permit the removal of all existing improvements
<br />on property at 1414 Durant Street, in an R-2 District, and to construct a new two-
<br />story, eight-unit apartment building, with four one-bedroom apartments on each
<br />
