Council Chamber <br />Santa Aha City Hall <br />May 19~ 1958. 7:30 P.M, <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br />Meeting called to order by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Present: Councilmen <br />Absent: Councilmen <br /> <br />Royal E. Hubbard, Stanley C. Gould, Jr., <br />A.A.Hall, J. Ogden Markel, Dale H. Heinly <br />None <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance w~s given. <br /> <br />Invocation was given by Councilman A. A. Hall. <br /> <br />Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes <br />of May 5, 1958, reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved <br />on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried. <br /> <br />Hearing <br />Improve Daisy, Myrtle <br />and Pine Streets <br />Assess.Dist. No. <br />Reso. No. 58-128 <br /> <br />The Mayor announced this is the time and place for hearing evidence to determine <br />whether the public convenience and neces~ity require the improvement of Daisy Avenue <br />between Myrtle Street and First Street; Myrtle Street between Artesia Street and <br />Daisy Avenue; Pine Street between Daisy Avenue and Artesia Street, and Daisy Avenue <br />between Fifth Street and a point 632 feet - northerly of Fifth Street, in Assessmen~ <br /> <br />District No. 198, and asked the Clerk if she was in possession of the affidavit of <br /> <br />publication and affidavit of posting. The Clerk stated she had the affidavit of <br /> <br />publication and affidavit Of posting, and on motion of Councilman Hall~ seconded by <br /> <br />Hubbard and carried, the affidavits were received and filed. The Clerk stated <br /> <br />there were no written Drotests. The Mayor asked if there were any oral protests, <br /> <br />and there being none,, on motion of CounciLman Gould, seconded by Markel and carried <br /> <br />the hearin~ was closed. The Council having unanimously waived the readin~ of the <br /> <br />Resolution, on motion of CounciLman Gou~d, seconded by Markel and carried, the fol- <br /> <br />lowing Resolution entitled: <br /> <br />"Resolution No. 58-128 of the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, <br /> California, finding that the public conveniauce and necessity require <br /> the improvement of Daisy Avenue and other streets, all within the <br /> City of SautaAna" <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Reso. No. 58-129 <br />Declaring intention <br />to improve portions of <br />Daisy, Myrtle and Pine <br />Streets - Assess.Dist. <br />No. 198 <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, STanley C. Gould, Jr., <br /> A.A.Hall, J. Ogden Markel, Dale H. Heialy <br />Noes, Councilmen None <br />Absent, Councilmen None <br /> <br />The Council having unauimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of <br /> <br />Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the following Resolution entitled, <br /> <br /> 'Resolution No. 58-129 of the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, <br /> California, declaring its intention to improve Daisy Avenue and other <br /> streets within the City of Santa Ana, and determining that bonds shall <br /> be issued to represent the cost therefor, and declaring the work to be <br /> of more than local or ordinary public benefit, and that the expense <br /> thereof sbs1J be assessed upon a District" <br />setting the date of hearing on June 16, 1958, was considered and passed by the <br /> <br /> <br />
