<br />On motion of Counci]m-n Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the recommendation
<br />of the Planning Commission was approved and the variance of Fairview Homes granted
<br />to permit erection of a double-face temporary directional sign, l0 feet x 20 feet in
<br />size, on property located at the southeast corner of Fairview Avenue and Center
<br />Street, in an R-1 District, subject to conditions.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hall and carried, the recommendation of
<br />the Planning Commission was approved and the variance of Anna M. Alberts granted to
<br />permit the erection of two temporary signs, 2 feet x l0 feet in size, in order to
<br />advertise for a suitable te~-~t, on property located at the Santa Ana Freeway, 336
<br />feet west of Eastwood Avenue, in an R-1 District, subject to conditions.
<br />Communication was read from the Pl~ing Commission recommendi~ approval of varianc
<br />application of Julian and Sally Bowles to permit construction of a duplex, instead
<br />of two one-bedroom units, and one two-bedroom unit, on the westerly portion of the
<br />lot situated at ~13 East Chestnut Avenue, in an R-2 District, subject to conditions~
<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hail and carried, the followiD~ Resolution entitled:
<br />
<br /> "Resolution No. 58-177 granting Variance on Application No.
<br /> 1006 where Planning Commission recommended modification of
<br /> the Variance requested"

<br />was considered and passed by the following vote:

<br />Communication was presented from the Planning Cnmmission re~.....~nding approval to
<br />vacate a strip of land 5 feet wide on the south side of Delhi Road, beginning at a
<br />point 338 feet east of the southeast corner of the intersection of Main Street and
<br />Delhi Road, extending south 205 feet. The Council having unanimously waived the
<br />reading of the Resolution, on motion of Counc~m-n Hubbard, seconded by Gould and
<br />carried, the following Resolution entitled:
<br />
<br /> "Resolution No. 58-178 approving map, declaring intention to
<br /> vacate a strip of land 5 feet wide on the south side of Delhi
<br /> Road"

<br />setting the hearing date on August 18, 1958, was considered and passed by the follow

<br />A request was presented from Electrical Products for a permit to install an
<br />
<br />electrical advertising display at 2656 North Main Street, for Webers Bread. It was
<br />
<br />moved by Councilman Hall, seconded by Hubbard and carried, that the Council finds
<br />
<br />that the section c~mes within the exceptions of Section 8441 of the Municipal Code,
<br />
<br />pertaining to sign advertising adjacent to or near the Freeway, therefore no action
<br />
<br />should be taken on the request.

<br />structions be approved and signed for street easements over certain properties, withl
<br />
<br />the following persons:
