EJC:adg <br />1/22/79 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 79-20 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING <br />POR THE FILING OF REBUTTAL ARGUMENTS FOR <br />CITY MEASURES SUBMITTED AT MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 5014.5 of the Elections Code of <br />the State of California authOrizes the City Council by majority <br />vote, to adopt provisions to provide for the filing of rebuttal <br />arguments for city measures submitted at municipal elections; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council <br />of the City of Santa Ana, as follows: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. That pursuant to Section 5014.5 of the <br />Elections Code of the State of California, if any person sub- <br />mits an argument against a city measure, and an argument has <br />been filed in favor of the city measure, the Clerk of the <br />Council shall immediately send copies of that argument to the <br />persons filing the argument in favor of the city measure. <br />The persons filing the argument in favor of the city measure <br />may prepare and submit a rebuttal argument not exceeding 250 <br />words. The Clerk of the Council shall send copies of the <br />argument in favor of the measure to the persons filing the <br />argument against the city measure, who may prepare and submit <br />a rebuttal argument to the argument in favor of the city <br />measure not exceeding 250 words. The rebuttal arguments shall <br />be filed with the Clerk of the Council not more than ten (10) <br />days after the final date for filing direct arguments. Rebuttal <br />arguments shall be printed in the same manner as the direct <br />arguments.
