Heinly <br />None <br /> <br />The Pledge of ~llegiance was given. <br /> <br />Invocation was given by Reverend George Butch of The Com~,mtty Church. <br /> <br />Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes <br />of the meetings of November 26, 1958 and December 1, 1~58, reading of <br />the Minutes was dispensed w~th and approved on motion of Councilm~n <br />Gould, seconded by Hall and carried. <br /> <br />Bid acceptance A tabulation of bids was presented for the f~_wnishing of 1000 5/8" x 3/~" water <br />Water meters <br />Spec.665-6 meters, Specification 665-6, as follows: <br /> <br /> b~it Price <br />Neptune Meter Company $ 2~.62 <br />Rockwell Manufacturing Co. 27.90~~ <br />Gamon Meter Division, Worthington Corp. 26.19 <br />Badger Meter Mfg. Appl. 263 <br />Emmet C. Rogers, et ux <br /> <br /> other bids rejected. <br /> <br /> This being the date set for hearing on the vacation of certain unnamed alleys <br /> south of Delhi Road and east o~ Main Street, Joseph A. Long, District Manager, <br /> Southern California Edison Company stated he wished to check the area as to whether <br /> or not the Company has facilities at these locations. On motion o~ <br /> <br /> N~I ~, seconded by Gould and carried~ the hearing was continued until January 5, <br /> 1959. <br /> <br />This being the date set for hearing on ~mendment Application No. 263 filed by <br /> <br /> Emmet C. and Juna Rogers to reclassify from R.1 District to C-1-PK District preperty <br /> <br /> situated on the east' side of North Broadway between the Southern Pacific ~ailroad~ <br /> motion of Councllm~u Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, <br />amd Santa.clara Avenue, e~the petitions signed by approximately twenty-two persons <br /> <br />protesting the rezontng of the property were received and filed. Attorney Charles <br />D. Swanner, 23~6 North Park Boulevard, stated the area is zoned R-1 and that fifty <br />businesses could be established if the property is rozoned to C-i-PK; Mr. Rogers , <br />could withdraw his amendment application and file a Variance in which case the <br />property owners would know the type of business Mr. Rogers intends to institute. <br />Arthur Bradley, 2~21 North Park Boulevard said the area typifies the beauty of <br /> <br />Santa Aha and if this amendment application is granted there wi1 ~ be business on one~ <br />side and residences on the other side in an outstanding residential district. : <br />Mr. B. B. Johnson, 2330 North Broadway~ felt that Mr. Rogers should file a variance <br /> <br />and the property owners expect protection so that their properties will remain R-1. <br />Mr. Lee Woods, 2311 Riverside Drive, stated Mr. Rogers purchased the property for <br />speculation, and Dr. P. A. ~heldon, 2301 North Park Boulevard objected to profess- <br />io~l zoning in this area. Mrs. Arthur Bradley suggested that Mr. Rogers donate <br /> <br /> <br />
